Istanbul supports a big population so public transport is a must. there's buses, trams & trains and their generally pretty reliable.

Out of the tram and onto the train.
Golfman has been to istanbul several times and sort of know his way around. after the preliminary sight seeing, we made our way to Taksim, a shopping district. and while we were there we had a little added excitement thrown in... there was a street demonstration in progress. but it was peaceful & under control so we went about our business as if nothing had happened.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at the Grand Bazaar where everything 'turkish' is under one roof.
